There is always a swirl of activity before large events. And none is larger than next week’s Emerson Exchange conference in Anaheim, California. We’re expecting a record turnout and I look forward to reconnecting and meeting as many of you who’ll be there as is humanly possible.

They’ll be some news of new and better technologies. I know from connecting with Emerson’s Rebecca Kopke, a member of the Rosemount temperature team that they’ll have big news on the temperature measurement front.

I don’t want to spoil the news, but I do want to share that a human centered design approach was taken to look for ways to reduce to simplify and reduce time from the installation process.

Also, by reviewing the maintenance processes and the actions taken by instrumentation maintenance personnel, the physical packing was re-imagined and designed to streamline the configuration and troubleshooting process.

By taking a close look at how plant personnel work with the devices, additional advanced diagnostics and improvements to the local interface were made.

I’d like to share more specifics, but will link to the news once it is live next week.

If you’d like to follow the action, there are several ways. If you’re a Twitter user, make sure to follow @EmersonExchange and keep a handy hashtag search setup on #EMRex. Also, websites such as TweetChat provide a filtered view based on the #EMRex hashtag and automatically add this hashtag to any tweets you make.

If you’re not a Twitter user, you can still do a search on the hashtag #EMRex from a web browser or mobile web browser.

You can also follow the flow of news and blog posts in the Emerson Exchange 365 community.

For those joining us in Anaheim, safe travels and see you there!
