When Emerson Process Management begins a relationship with a customer, we often spend one to four years planning, designing, implementing and building a project. Lifecycle Services is what takes place for 20-30 years after that initial project is complete. That’s a big commitment toward forging a long-term relationship! But at Emerson, Lifecycle Services means delivering on the promises made to help operate and maintain a system.

We know many of our customers are under mounting pressure and facing similar problems. You have fewer skilled people who must respond faster, handle more complex processes and make better decisions with bigger consequences. That’s where we step in to help.

Lifecycle Services on process automation systems and software describe a portfolio of services for existing customers who already have one or more of our products, such as a DeltaV distributed control system. Our services help customers around the globe improve and protect the efficiency and effectiveness of their systems. We strive to be your trusted partner when it comes to maintenance, reliability and performance.

So what exactly do those things involve? Maintenance is the day-to-day tasks that keep your plant operating safely, consistently and economically. Reliability has more of a long-term, strategic focus to help you preserve the investment you’ve made in an automation system over the lifecycle of the plant. This is where we can help with upgrades, cybersecurity, backup and recovery services, spare parts and much more. Finally, performance is the “do more” aspect of optimizing your automation system, where we close the gap between where a customer is today and where they aspire to be in order to better achieve business goals.

Guardian SupportFor example, Guardian Support — the core element for every Lifecycle Services program — proactively provides critical, relevant, system-specific information to keep your plant current.

System-Health-MonitorsSystem Health Monitoring provides proactive 24x7x365 automated health monitoring of your integrated DeltaV system infrastructure, which helps eliminate manual health checks and increase system availability.

With Alarm Maintenance and Operations Service, we analyze the state of your plant’s alarm management as compared to the ISA18.2 alarm standard, and then identify deficiencies and perform remediation to address those deficiencies. That way, operators can respond to alarms quickly and effectively instead of being inundated by alarm floods and nuisance alarms.

And with Site Evaluation Service, we assess your control systems across multiple dimensions, compared against Emerson Best Practices. Then we deliver a quantitative report that highlights all the issues, good and bad, so you can better understand your automation assets and make continuous improvements.
