Simplifying Continuous Gas Chromatograph Online Analysis Installation

Gas chromatographs (GCs) are used in natural gas applications to measure the hydrocarbon components. The heavier natural gas liquids beyond butane and pentane are referred to as C6+ hydrocarbons. Gas chromatographs performing C6+ analysis are used by hydrocarbon processing facilities when high-quality product specifications are required or when rigid custody transfer standards are needed in natural gas trading operations. These gas chromatographs provide not only the heating value of the gas sampled, but also gas composition and relative density.

The Rosemount 370XA Gas Chromatograph is designed for the continuous online analysis of natural gas. The analysis measures the common components found in natural gas, including the C6+ components. The 370XA improves gas measurement analysis and reducing lost-and-unaccounted-for (LAUF) gas.

A 370XA Quick Start Guide shows you how to install these GCs in your process. To simplify the process where you don’t have access to expertise, a 370XA enclosure system is now available

In this 2:23 YouTube video, Integrated Gas Chromatograph System Enclosure, Emerson’s Shane Hale explains how a pre-assembled factory enclosure system helps customers solve challenges like faster installation, start-up and commissioning of complex gas chromatographs in the field.

Shane describes how this enclosure system is an all-in-one installation for the GC that your team can just pick up, put on site and wire it up and its ready to go.

Watch the video for more on the calibration bottle design, heating system for the samples and options to feed in multiple natural gas streams to the GC.
