To help miners overcome these issues, the Emerson mining team developed a 16-page eBook, entitled Extract More from Your Operations, featuring the article, Sustainability Step-by-Step.
Energy & Emissions
How to Rescue Trapped Data
Despite the number of sensors collecting information in virtually every industrial plant, there are still many instances of “trapped data” – information that is being gathered, but not used to inform operators and decision-makers.
Managing Unknown Corrosion in Carbon Capture and Storage Facilities
Carbon capture and storage (CCS) or utilization (CCU) of captured carbon dioxide (CO2) are tools for reducing global carbon emissions, but with new technologies come new challenges. Learn about potential risks with CCS and CCU, and how they could be mitigated using modern sensor technology.
Hydrogen Trends, Challenges and Solutions Podcast-Part 2
Emerson’s Martin Van Der Merwe joins podcast host Jim Cahill in part 2 to discuss the trends, challenges, and solutions in growing hydrogen’s role in the Asia-Pacific region’s energy mix.
How High-Temperature Tolerant Flue Gas Analyzers Simplify Continuous Emissions Monitoring
It is difficult to find a process industry application that doesn’t burn some kind of fuel to generate heat. And where there’s combustion, environmental regulators won’t be far behind because industrial-scale fired heaters, boilers, and other processes invariably...
Quantum Cascade Lasers for CEMS
Emerson’s Dave McMillen presents New Developments in CEMS Analysis using Quantum Cascade Laser Spectroscopy at the 4C HSE conference in Austin, Texas.
Driving More Energy Efficient Manufacturing
In a Plant Engineering article, Two ways smart pneumatics maximize energy savings, the authors describe how smart pneumatics can help save large amounts of energy and reduce emissions.
Reducing Emissions in Your Sustainability Strategy
Aurélien Tissot joins podcast host Jim Cahill in this Emerson Automation Experts podcast to discuss the topic of emissions and the technology opportunities for manufacturers and producers.
Quality Assurance of Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems
Industrial plants are required to comply with air quality environmental regulations, which can take many forms depending on the application and pollutants involved. Regulatory bodies, such as the Directive 2010/75/EU of the European Parliament and the Council on...
Flare Event Predictive Analytics
Richard opened his 2021 4C Health, Safety & Environmental conference presentation showing a flare gas recovery unit that works based on the pressure in the flare manifold. The purpose of their research was to find ways to predict flare events early enough to be able to avoid where possible.
Emerson at August 18-20 4C Health, Safety, Environmental Conference
A key conference for health, safety and environmental (HSE) is the 4C Health, Safety, and Environmental Conference. The 2021 conference will take place next week, August 18-20 here in Austin, Texas.
Driving towards Cleaner Hydrogen Production
I caught a presentation by Ana Gonzalez Hernandez, who is leading Emerson’s Environmental Sustainability programs globally across Emerson. She opened noting some of the key characteristics of this promising decarbonization solution: hydrogen is the most abundant molecule in the universe, it is the lightest element and so has low energy density per unit volume; it is a non-toxic, non-metallic, odorless, colorless and a highly combustible diatomic gas.
