Emerson’s Sarah Morgan presented Take a Deep Dive into Ovation Green SCADA at the 2025 Ovation Users’ Conference. Ovation Green SCADA is a built-for-purpose renewable energy software solution that provides a top-down approach to viewing, monitoring, controlling, optimizing, and providing renewable energy asset management for a wide variety of renewable energy and battery storage assets from a significant fleet level down to a single piece of equipment.
Sarah opened by showing a web portal overview that is available for both PC and mobile devices. It has pre-built dashboards and data sets for ease of configuration. It displays KPIs and information of interest in easy-to-navigate overviews for assets such as wind turbines, photovoltaic (PV) inverters, weather stations, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and Ovation Power Plant Controller (PPC) defaults.
This new display can provide fleet comparisons.
Historical graphs and high-resolution graphs can be filtered with one or more filters, and the y-axis adjusted by setting the “Set Limits” option.
She highlighted improvements in the latest release, including right-click options, a reorganized administration page, and how it lists assets, users, mappings, downtime, availability, summations, data sets, scheduler, services, maintenance, and miscellaneous options.
Sarah shared a demonstration showcasing capabilities like adding a unit, cloning a site, and integrating with Ovation via the Datahub. Ovation Green can communicate with the Datahub to ensure that users have permissions that correspond with the Ovation roles and Point Security Groups to ensure secure management of alarms and control. Types of data passed include point updates, alarms, and some algorithm control integrated into the Ovation Green SCADA server.
With this integration, users can be verified that they exist on the Ovation side, and added if they do not.
Training for the Ovation Green SCADA application is available. OVG001 is operator-focused, providing an overview of dashboard navigation, trends, reporting, and widget customization. OVG002 is an administrative-focused training that covers all topics from the other class and provides additional information on administrative functions, including adding new units, customizing signal mapping, data sets, scripting, and user management.
