Terminal and Refinery Tank Gauging Systems

by | Apr 1, 2013 | Level, Measurement Instrumentation, Tank Gauging | 0 comments

I wanted to share two videos from Emerson’s Rosemount Tank Gauging team. Both feature Emerson’s Ulf Johannesson.

In the first, short 1:36 video, StocExpo 2013 – Tank Gauging Solutions, from the recent StocExpo 2013 conference, Ulf describes elements of the Raptor Tank Gauging system including guided wave radar transmitters and multipoint temperature transmitters which measure the temperature profile of the liquid in the storage tank.

The second video is from the 2012 Emerson Exchange conference in Anaheim. In this 1:22 video, Ulf shows the Raptor system including a multi-tank, tank hub, which links in multiple radar level gauges, temperature transmitters, and field display units.

For tank terminals and refineries, these technologies are used in applications such as operational control, legal custody transfer, inventory control, mass balance & loss estimation, leak detection, and overfill protection.
