A key component of reliable operations is the health of the rotating machinery within a process manufacturing or production process. Monitoring the vibration levels on this machinery is an important component in an effective reliability-centered maintenance program.

Frost-Sullivan-Vibration-Monitoring-Innovation-AwardI mention this to take a moment to congratulate our team managing the CSI technology vibration analysis and predictive information products and services. They won Frost & Sullivan’s 2015 Global Portable Vibration Monitoring Product Innovation Award.

This award is based on the CSI 2140 Machinery Health Analyzer. In their best practices research report, the Frost & Sullivan team noted that the CSI 2140 is:

…not only lighter and sleeker in design than its predecessors, but it has also made route data collection considerably more efficient. The full-color touchscreen has transformed data visualization irrespective of the lighting conditions, while the lithium-ion battery has ensured reliable and uninterrupted functioning of the device. This battery has also eliminated the need to charge the vibration analyzer more than once during a shift.

In awarding this product for innovation, they conclude:

Emerson’s CSI 2140 reemphasizes not only the company’s technological vision but also its drive to stay ahead of the competition and remain at the forefront of the market. Bringing together some of today’s most modern technologies and advancements into one product, Emerson has once again reset the bar in the portable vibration monitoring market with the CSI 2140. Because of its strong overall performance, Emerson is recognized with Frost & Sullivan’s 2015 Product Innovation Award in the global portable vibration monitoring equipment market.

The award is based upon product attributes and their impact on customers. Product attribute criteria include match to needs, reliability, quality, positioning and design. Customer impact criteria include price/performance value, customer purchase experience, customer ownership experience, customer service experience and brand equity.

There is also a selection of CSI 2140 YouTube videos showing full and portable alignment demonstrations, simulators for basic and advanced alignment, PeakVue signal processing, wireless vibration transmitter demonstrations and more.
