Nozzle Testing for High-Quality Steam

by , , | Nov 14, 2025 | Valves, Actuators & Regulators | 0 comments

Earlier this year, in a post, “Preventing Desuperheater Nozzle Failures with Routine Testing,” Emerson’s Joe Gibbons referenced an article he co-wrote with Kate Mathews to highlight the importance of testing for safe, efficient, and reliable steam process loop operations. Desuperheating and attemperating equipment play critical roles in providing efficient, high-quality steam to a variety of applications in power and process production.

Joe demonstrates how this testing is performed to identify issues in a 4:38 YouTube video, “Unlock Efficiency with Routine Nozzle Inspection and Maintenance.”

This testing process helps to identify problems with desuperheating and attemperating equipment in steam processes. Issues like improper nozzle spray are common and can lead to damage to downstream equipment, production losses and revenue, and costly repairs.

Visit the Valve Service Provider Locator page to locate an Accredited Service Provider in your area. These providers offer OEM-certified valve services for Emerson’s valve, actuator, and regulator product portfolio.
