Petroleum Company Uses Micro Motion ELITE for Entrained Air Challenges

by | Nov 3, 2015 | Flow, Measurement Instrumentation | 0 comments

Kuwait Petroleum Company (KPC) owns and operates a primary oil blending company in Belgium that loads trucks with oil blending products. Their PD meter-based measurement process was problematic; since PD meters only measure volumetric flow of the mixture, the company would see many inaccurate measurements when gas was introduced into the liquid mixture.

For example, trucks would be underfilled at times, forcing them to repeat processes. Overfillling caused the product to spill into the bay. These consequences were unsafe, costly and time consuming.

KPC tested several different meter technologies and landed on Emerson’s Micro Motion® ELITE® Coriolis flowmeter, Model CMF300 with 2700 MVDTM technology.
