The 2019 North American Custody Transfer Measurement Conference, hosted by CEESI, took place in June in Austin, Texas at the freshly renovated Hyatt Regency Austin. This conference, bringing together meter manufacturers and end-users, shares information about measurement challenges in the hydrocarbon measurement industry. Guests can hear updates in metering technologies, flow measurement research, industry standards, government regulations, and diagnostic tools to help mitigate metering challenges.
During the conference which ran from June 18 to the 20th, over 250 attendees mingled and learned from over 20 meter manufacturing companies and saw their new advances in person. At the Emerson booth, participants interacted with the Rosemount 3418 8-Path Gas Ultrasonic Flow Meter orifice plates, and the Micro Motion 4200 2-Wire Transmitter.
Emerson’s Martin Schleback, Director of Global Business Development, presented on “Validating the Scale-ability of ISO-OIML Perturbation Testing on Next Generation 8-Path Ultrasonic Meters”. Guests discovered the possibilities of testing with simulation devices as acceptable alternatives to piping structures. Other presentations included “Managing Measurement Risk”, “Augmented Intelligence Applied to Natural Gas Ultrasonic Measurement”, and “The Effect of Zero Stability and Turndown on Coriolis Flow meter Performance”.
On the first night of the conference, attendees relaxed at Zax Restaurant & Bar for Emerson’s Customer Reception. Guests were able to enjoy a night of networking with fellow CEESI peers, a local Austin band, local beer tastings, and unique raffles. There was also a special product unveiling reception held on the third day of the event with a live demonstration and presentation from Martin Schleback.
