I came across a Facebook post from long-time Process Hall of Fame member Greg McMillan. In the post, Greg shared:

Here are my most recent books published in 2021 and 2024 and the ISA Life Achievement Award in 2010 (ISA is the International Society of Automation). Also shown are 7 other serious big books and 2 pocket guidebooks, and 7 humorous books,  plus best article, paper, and presentation awards and achievement awards in mentoring and standards most notably being the induction into the inaugural Process Automation Hall of Fame in 2001 with process control legend Greg Shinskey. Not shown are a dozen copies of previous editions of my serious books and the 400 articles, papers, and columns I wrote. All were done as an extracurricular activity (not on company time)…

In addition to his many decades of educating many of us in the world of automation, Greg remains active in his writing over at ControlGlobal.com’s Control Talk blog. Here is his most recent post, One wish for 2024—more APC. You may also want to check out his December InTech feature article, Digital Twins for the Virtual Plant.

I also wanted to include some of the pictures Greg added to his Facebook post (go to his post for the rest) to go along with the quoted words above.

Hopefully, we have some aspiring prolific teachers emerging to continue to pass along automation knowledge to future generations.
