Two Views on Leadership

by | Apr 15, 2011 | Miscellaneous | 0 comments

With the Dilbert cartoon poking fun at highly hierarchical organizational structures these past few days (14-Apr-2011, 15-Apr-2011), it’s great to see an alternative view in the post on leadership over at the ControlGlobal.com SoundOff! Editors’ Blog, Leaders on Leadership #pauto #mfg #manufacturing @plantsuccess.

I wanted to pass along these four leadership attributes from the post:

Leaders are creative and inventive.
Leaders are supportive. They coach, mentor and, well, they lead.
Leaders are good managers. Not all managers are leaders.
Leaders are grown, not born.

To me, these attributes of successful leaders foster the creative environments required to confront the ever-increasing complexity that our organizations face, as I highlighted in the recent How We Manage Our Companies post.

Are there other attributes that play a role in successful leadership?
